Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the PatientSource website and web application.

This website and application are run by PatientSource Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use PatientSource, including clinicians, administrative users and operational staff with accessibility needs.

For example, this means users should be able to:

  • navigate the website and application using a keyboard

  • use the service with screen-reading software

  • zoom in without text spilling off the screen

  • use the service without relying only on colour to understand information

  • read pages with clear headings, labels and error messages

  • use the service without encountering flashing or strobing content

We aim to make PatientSource clear, consistent and usable for all authorised users.

How accessible this service is

PatientSource has been designed with accessibility in mind and includes a range of accessibility controls, including keyboard navigation, high-contrast interface elements, clear labelling, consistent layouts, avoidance of flashing content, and support for assistive technologies.

We are currently reviewing PatientSource against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.

We know that some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA across all modules, customer configurations and legacy workflows. Where issues are identified, they will be assessed, prioritised and addressed through our product development and release process.

Reporting accessibility problems

We are always looking to improve the accessibility of PatientSource.

If you find any problems not listed on this page, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact:

PatientSource Support
Email: support@patientsource.co.uk

Please include:

  • the page, module or workflow where the issue occurred

  • what you were trying to do

  • the assistive technology, browser or device you were using, if relevant

  • a short description of the problem

This helps us reproduce, assess and resolve the issue.

Compliance status

The PatientSource website and web application are currently being assessed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.

At present, we consider PatientSource to be partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA, because a full WCAG 2.2 AA assessment has not yet been completed across the full assessed product scope.

Once the assessment is complete, we will update this statement to confirm the compliance status and list any known exceptions.

Non-accessible content

We are currently reviewing the service and will update this section once the WCAG 2.2 AA assessment has been completed.

Potential areas under review include:

  • older or customer-specific workflows that may not yet fully support all assistive technology patterns

  • complex clinical tables, charts or dashboards

  • third-party or integrated content where accessibility depends on external systems or customer configuration

  • PDF, spreadsheet or document exports generated from the system

  • legacy interface elements in less commonly used modules

Where issues are identified, we will record them, assess their impact and prioritise remediation.

Disproportionate burden

We are not currently claiming disproportionate burden for any accessibility issue.

If, following assessment, we consider that resolving a specific issue would represent a disproportionate burden, we will document the rationale and explain any alternative arrangements available to users.

Content outside the scope of accessibility regulations

Some content or functionality may be outside PatientSource Ltd’s direct control, including customer-supplied documents, locally configured content, third-party systems, externally hosted services, or integrations controlled by a healthcare organisation or another supplier.

Where PatientSource provides the underlying functionality, we will work with customers and third parties where reasonably possible to support accessible use.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

PatientSource Ltd is taking the following steps to improve accessibility:

  • reviewing PatientSource against WCAG 2.2 AA

  • maintaining accessibility-related issues in the product backlog

  • considering accessibility during product design, testing and clinical safety review

  • improving consistency of labels, navigation, error messages and form behaviour

  • reviewing complex clinical tables, charts and dashboards

  • responding to accessibility feedback raised by users and customers

  • updating this accessibility statement as assessment and remediation work progresses

Accessibility issues that may affect safe or effective clinical use are also considered through PatientSource’s clinical safety and product governance processes.
